I dumped Amaechi over war with Jonathan –Princewill

Rivers State gubernatorial flag-bearer of the Labour Party (LP)
, Prince Tonye Princewill, has given reason for parting ways
with the state Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, saying it is due to
the governor’s attacks on President Goodluck Jonathan.
“Amaechi is a good friend of mine. We parted ways because
he wanted to persecute President Jonathan, which I did not
want. If you want to fight, you should fight for a purpose,” he
said.
Princewill declared this yesterday at an interactive session
with journalists in Port Harcourt, pointing out that he was in
Labour Party to move the state forward.
“I do not want the All Progressive Congress (APC) ticket
because the APC’ s agenda is to fight the president. We are
here (in Labour Party) because we want to move the state
forward. We have a point agenda, which is job creation.”
He challenged the governorship candidates of other parties to
issue-based debates, stating that Nigerian politicians discuss
persons instead of issues.
“The era of money politics has come to an end because we
have reached the stage where they (politicians) have to start
working for the people.
“We are running political discussion on persons not issues. It
is supposed to be on issues. Poverty is too much; we need
people that care.”
Speaking further, the governorship candidate appealed to the
electorate to ask the type of government the APC or Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) could produce, stating that the two
parties were the same.
