Portuguese scouts to storm Bauchi for Yuguda Boys

Three soccer scouts from a top Portuguese club will any
moment from now arrive the country to monitor players of
Yuguda Boys FC which last year won the Iber Cup youth
tournament in Estoril, Portugal.
Hint to this effect was dropped yesterday by officials of
Serahana Sports management, the outfit that facilitated the
participation of Yuguda Boys in the Portuguese tournament
that attracts youth clubs from different parts of the globe.
Serahana’s spokesman, Godson Ekadi disclosed that the
Portuguese scouts will during the trip to Bauchi further take a
look at the players of Yuguda Boys FC who were penciled
down during the Estoril meet last year.
“When Yuguda Boys did Nigeria proud in Portugal by winning
the youth tournament, a good number of their players were
spotted. The scouts from Portugal are coming to further
assess them and possibly finalize their signing for some top
European clubs. We are happy the Bauchi state governor Dr
Yuguda is interested in seeing the players take their soccer
career to the next level. We are right now putting everything in
place with the Bauchi state government ahead of the coming
of the scouts,” Ekadi said.
He further stated that everything points to Yuguda Boys
making their second consecutive appearance in the
competition later this year.
“Yuguda Boys may be featuring again in the competition this
year. As defending champions it would be nice for them to go
and defend the trophy they won last year,” Ekadi said, even as
he gave kudos to Bauchi state government for investing in the
youths of the state through football.
