Keshi returns weekend, eyes fresh contract

In a last ditch effort to regain his job, out of contract coach
Stephen Keshi is expected to return from the United States
where he had gone on holiday this weekend
Our reliable source disclosed that the coach may have been
jolted by the reality that he may lose out on the job if he did
not return and open negotiations with the NFF.
Unlike before he traveled when he rejected certain conditions
put forward by the NFF before he could get another contract,
the former Eagles captain was said to be ready to eat the
humble pie by conceding to some of the conditions.
The NFF had insisted that he must work with the technical
director Amodu Shuiabu with whom he had a running battle.
Also, the body had proposed that he must take a pay cut as
his N5 millions salary was believed to be outrageous and
unrealistic..
Our source informed that Keshi’s decision to return might not
be unconnected to the fact that he had lost out of the job in
Equatorial Guinea where he was hoping to get a lucrative con­
tract.
Its was believed that NFF was not prepared to give him the
absolute power he enjoyed under the old dispensation.
