Rivers Angels will trade tackles with Sunshine Queens of Akure in the grand finale of the 2014 Women’s Federation Cup today at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere Lagos.
Brimming with confidence, Okon stated that Rivers Angels is playing at a familiar turf, insisting that his wards are capable of defeating their Akure based rivals .
Counting on the brilliance of the likes of FIFA U-20 highest goal scorer, Assisat Oshola, Super Falcons captain, Evelyn Nwabuko, Okon remained optimistic his Port Harcourt based side will replicate the 2013 edition of the Federation Cup, where they mauled Nasarawa Amazons 3-0 at the same venue.
“We are very much at home at Teslim because it is a stadium that we have historically found favorable to us.
“Everyone here is confident, but we need to show that on the pitch and I expect an improvement from all the players .
“We are here in Lagos to win and we are determined to do everything possible to end the year with the Federation Cup trophy for the fourth time.”
Rivers Angels and Sunshine Queens reached the final after beating Delta Queens and Nasarawa Amazons respectively in the semifinal matches.
